2. Attractive prizes will be given to 3 best presenters of oral and poster sessions, respectively.

MAPPS PAST ACTIVITIES FROM 2008 UNTIL 2010

Lecture Series: “Seeing with Little Eyes: Insect
Vision”
A half-day lecture entitled “Seeing with Little
Eyes: Insect Vision” was held on 29th July 2010 (Thursday) at Agriculture Hall
of Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The lecture was presented
by Prof. Dr. Victor Benno Meyer-Rochow from Jacobs University, Germany.
MCPA Annual Dinner 2010Malaysian Crop-life and Public Health Association (MCPA) have organized an Annual Dinner in September 2010 and it was held at Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel. MAPPS was participated in the event and received lucky draw hamper as take home souvenir.

Best Student Award in Crop Protection 2009/2010
The event was
held on 8th October 2010 at Agricultural Hall, Faculty of Agriculture,
Universiti Putra Malaysia.
The recipient of the 2009/2010 Best Student Award in Crop Protection was Ms. Sathis Sri A/P Thanarajoo, a graduate
of the Bachelor of Agriculture degree in 2010. Her final year project topic
was “Identification of Pathogen Associated with Stem Canker in Jatropha curcas” under the supervision
of Dr. Ganesan
A/L Vadamalai (Universiti Putra Malaysia). She received RM 1,000.00 and a
certificate of award from the MAPPS President.

Malaysia Science and
Technology Congress (MSTC 2010)
The MSTC
Congress 2010 was held in Crystal Crown Hotel, Petaling Jaya from 9-11
November 2010. MAPPS was invited to be one of the collaborators
and Prof. Dr. Dzokhifli Omar (MAPPS President Elect) has been invited to
chair a technical session on “Agro and Natural Resource Based Sciences”.
