Eligibility Criteria

  • Membership Requirement: The Project Leader must be a MAPPS member.

  • Project Quota: Each member is only permitted to serve as a Project Leader for one (1) active project at any given time.

  • Team Execution: The project must be implemented directly by the project team members based on their own field of expertise without hiring external consultants or experts.

  • Initiative Focus: The grant strictly prioritizes community-based initiatives.

Grant Guidelines

  • Core Focus: The project must actively support community-driven knowledge transfer or societal development that provides immediate benefits to the community.

  • Project Duration: 6 to 12 months. Any extension request requires an official application submitted one (1) month prior to the end date, supported by strong justifications.

  • Funding Allocation: The funding amount ranges from RM5,000.00 to RM10,000.00 per project.

Simplified Financial Regulations

Every proposed budget item must be explicitly categorized under the following financial codes:

  • Wages & Allowances (VOT 11000): Only allowed for one-off payments to enumerators or project assistants providing specific services. Honorariums for the Project Leader, team members, or external speakers are strictly prohibited.

  • Logistics & Rentals (VOT 21000 & 24000): Strictly for licensed transportation, building/equipment rentals, and subsistence allowances directly related to official program activities.

  • Supplies & Materials (VOT 26000): Restricted to program-specific consumables. The purchase of permanent assets is strictly prohibited. Any inventory item (equipment costing above RM500) requires a solid written justification within the proposal.

  • Professional Services (VOT 29000): Covers essential services such as printing, photocopying, lab analysis, and project data processing. Publication costs are capped at a maximum of RM500.00. Attending seminars or conferences using this grant is not allowed.

Monitoring & Deliverables

  • Periodic Reporting: A Progress Report must be submitted according to the designated mid-term milestone (e.g., at month 6).

  • Final Report: A complete Final Report must be submitted within 3 months after project completion.

  • Mandatory Deliverables: Upon completion, every project must successfully produce and upload:

    1. One (1) popular writing piece, article, or official social media publication feature highlighting the project.

    2. One (1) short video (1 to 3 minutes long) capturing the live field activities and direct community outcomes.

  • Penalties & Funding Revocation: The grant allocation will be revoked if the project is found inactive or records zero expenditure within the first 6 months of launch. Project Leaders who fail to comply with reporting schedules or governance guidelines will have their funds pulled and will be blacklisted from applying for any new grants for two (2) years.
